WE HAD QUITE A PROJECT ON OUR HANDS AFTER CLEARING OUT THE OAKLAND SHOP
Moving these giant rolling window walls that were the centerpiece of the Oakland boutique, up to Nevada city to make a greenhouse out of them!
My friend Steve and I made these window walls to seperate the boutique from the studio back in 2012 (over 10 years ago). He welded 2 giant metal frames (12x7' each) and I cut these old french doors down to make window panels for the frames. Steve built this giant track so one of them could slide back and forth. It was the biggest most beautiful thing I ever helped make. So we couldn't just leave them at the shop. We assembled a team of heavy lifters to help us get them on the trailer. Eric hand built a pulley system frame & dolley to get them off the night before we needed to return the trailer. They weigh an estimate of 700 lbs each!
Happy to report that they traveled 150+ miles & we got them on and off the trailer to safe keeping without breaking a single pane, or the mirrors! Excited to see these beautiful window walls & the Oakland shop live on in the from of a plant nursery where i will be sprouting babies for years to come.
