Prairie Dress in Black Dot

How can something have so much flow but still enough structure to flatter? As comfortable as a house dress but has you feeling fancy? Field Day has the answer! And I’m beyond grateful.

I originally ordered an XL based on my 44" bust measurement, but it was not even close to closing! I measured the dress pit-to-pit before returning, and it was 19" across which suggests it would fit a 38" bust or 40" at most. Once I sized up to the 2XL I was able to get it closed but barely (the generous number of buttons does help, since there are no gaping holes even though it's a tight fit). I doubt it would fit a 46" bust. Fortunately the dress is constructed in such a way that I was able to take in the waist on the 2XL to get a nice fit, but I am an experienced sewer so maybe bring it to a tailor if you need it taken in!

Now that it fits I am obsessed and wearing this dress everywhere. I look like I've spent my day hexing befuddled farmers in 1600s Salem. So many compliments from hot tattooed women, so many confused looks from men. Basically living the dream.

I wanted this dress for a long time. It reminds me of dresses my mom wore when I was growing up, in style and quality. I’ve been able so save a few of her old pieces and this dress looks great hanging next to them 🥲 and on me.

she is stunning, truly my favorite Field Day dress so far and that’s saying a lot! fits like a dream, sturdy and well made but comfy. makes me look like I’m about to be burnt at the stake bc the village can’t handle this 🔥👀💅
