FEBRUARY FIRST FRIDAY WITH MAYA FUJI // CELEBRATION OF LOVE
Join us at the shop this Friday, February 1st from 6-9pm as we welcome artist Maya Fujifor an opening art reception in conjunction with a celebration of Love and the infinite ways it is manifested. We'll be having a couple of pop ups in the shop with local makers and healers and will be serving wine and good vibes.
Born in Japan and raised in the Bay Area, Maya Fuji's art is inspired by both her cultural heritage as well as the local cultures of the SF Bay Area. She is a self taught artist of many mediums including screen printing, acrylic and watercolor painting, and collage art. Her art explores themes of Japanese myths and folklore within the context of modern day society and pop culture. Each piece has a story to tell of historical legends, lessons, and ghost stories of the "Ukiyo" (floating world) era reimagined through the lens of the digital age.
Aly Dodds, founder of Furrow Made, will be popping up with her bespoke clay polymer wares that are all handmade and baked in California with love! Furrow is a jewelry brand rooted in the desire to combine personality, style, and self expression through uniquely handcrafted pieces. Guided by the idea of connecting with humans beyond consumption, Furrow aims to provide items with a personal touch evident in the nuanced nature of each piece.
Neysa Budzinski of Little Kestrel Apothecary will be serving up some of her Damiana Love Potion, which brings you into your body and helps connect you with your sensuality. We will have bottles in the shop available to purchase for yourself, a lover, or a friend.

OnSaturday, February 16th, we will be hosting Auraology at the shop from 12-6pm. You will have an opportunity to receive a reading of your aura as well as an animated visual of what your aura looks like. Auraology is an LA based aura photography studio. They are the first in the world to offer animated versions of your aura image. Auraology prides itself on the quality of information and the auric field. They provide thorough and uplifting readings with each session. We connected with them in October at the Modern Witches Confluence and are so stoked to welcome them to our shop in Oakland!

We are so excited to reveal what is on the horizon for our Spring/Summer '19 collection to be released on Spring Equinox, March 20th. We've partnered with beloved artist Phoebe Wahlwho designed our Lemon Wood Sorrell fabric featured below that we will be carrying in our classic wrap dress and a few new styles, including a unisex button down tee. We are also expanding our sizing up to 5X in various styles to be sure fuller figured babes can get in on what we have to offer.
A MONTH FOR SELF-LOVE AND CARE
With Valentine's Day looming around the corner, we're holding space especially for those who fall into the margins of the commercialized focus on heteronormative romantic partnering. While this can be time that stirs up insecurities and complex feelings, we know love is manifested in a multitude of ways, all of which deserve to be honored and celebrated. Here's a reminder that in addition to sharing love with partners, friends, and family, self love is extremely important and that you alone are more than enough.
