>>>SEWN SEEDS: BLOSSOMS OF SPRING FASHION SHOW<<<
A public fundraiser by the Oakland Women's Center
Sunday, April 10 at 6:30 - 11:00pm
Six Bay Area designers (including Field Day!) are collaborating with local musicians and spoken word artists to produce an celebratory fundraising fashion performance this spring. There will also be 10 local makers on the scene selling pieces from recent collections.

All money raised enables more than a dozen training initiatives at the Oakland Women's Center (OWC) in West Oakland, which was able to open last year thanks to the funding raised from last year's Sewn Seeds Benefit. The OWC is a safe gathering space that provides holistic solutions for each woman to achieve a healthier, more prosperous life, and fosters sisterhood with the power to uplift community.
MONTH OF THE WATER DRAGON
>>april 7 - may 7<<
In the traditional Chinese calendar, April is a still, earthy month, dividing late spring from early summer. This is when this half of the planet gets clearer and brighter, and is blessed (hopefully) with intermittent rains, and early crops start showing promise with new shoots and grasping roots.

Because of the relative stillness of this part of the season, it's a great time to put mini-plans into motion, and to nurture to those ideas that are still too tender and new for their big grand reveal.

>> enjoy this Yang Water Dragon month <<
there's a ton of kinetic potential to be harnessed...
